Amityville's Sarah Koch, 87

Longtime Amityville resident and dedicated member of St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church, Sarah J. Koch died June 29, 2007 at New Island Hospital in Bethpage. She was 87 years old.

Born June 19, 1920 in Lawrence, Massachusetts to George J. and Mary Malvina (Morin) Bennett, she worked as a bookkeeper for CMR Industries in Bay Shore until her retirement.

Mrs. Koch leaves behind her nephew: William C. of Hudson, New York; her nieces: Linda Marino of Ghent, New York and Catherine Louise Loderhose of South Carolina; and many great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert A. in May of 1983 and her nephew, Carl. F. Loderhose.

A prayer service was conducted at the Powell Funeral Home, Amityville, on July 2, 2007 by Deacon John Sheehan of St. Martin's. Rev. Melchor Camina, visiting priest of St. Martin's, officiated at the Mass of Christian Burial assisted by the Consolation Ministry and members of the family. Interment followed in Calverton National Cemetery.
