BaCCA offers summer programs for kids

Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts (BACCA) will be offering two new programs this summer.

The 2007 Summer Theatre Program for Children will be offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, July 10 through August 2. Third and fourth grades attend 9 to 10:30 a.m. and fifth and sixth grades attend 10:30 a.m. to noon. The final performance is August 3 at 7 p.m. This fourweek program will teach acting skills, character development and more. Family and friends will be invited to watch a final performance created and performed by the students. The fee is $60 for BACCA members and $80 for non-members. The program will be held at Babylon Town Hall Annex Auditorium.

A new Summer Art Program for children with special needs will be held Tuesdays, July 10, 17, 24 and 31 and August 7 and 14. Ages six to 10 attend from 10 to 11 a.am., ages 10 to 15 go from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and ages 15 to 21 attend from 1 to 2 p.m. The fee is $100 for BACCA members and $120 for non-members. Students must be able to function in a classroom setting. Students will create abstract art through media exploration. The class will be creative, expressive and fun and all skills level are welcome.
