Lifelong Amityville resident Margaret Hansen

Lifetime Amityville resident, Margaret F. Hansen died June 17, 2007 at Ross Health Care Center in Brentwood. She was 91 years old and spent her life loving and caring for her family.

Born March 28, 1916 in Yonkers to James and Jean (Murray) Francis, she devoted herself to caring for her home and family. She was a longtime member of the Unqua Corinthian Yacht Club and parishioner of the First United Methodist Church in Amityville.

Mrs. Hansen leaves behind her children: Jill Ruyle of Amityville and Jay L. of Brightwaters; her grandchildren: Craig, Karin and Jeffrey Ruyle, Melissa Carney and Christopher and Jay Hansen; her great grandchildren: Catherine Ruyle, Jack Carney, Meagan Carney, Arianna Hansen and Zoe Hansen; and her sister, Jacqueline Dziuban. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Godfrey and her sister, Barbara Palmer.

The Rev. Dr. Louise Stowe-Johns, pastor, First United Methodist Church in Amityville officiated at the Funeral Service in the Powell Funeral Home in Amityville on June 20, 2007. Interment followed in the Amityville Cemetery.
