Virginia Schneider: St. Mary's Church Secretary

Devoted mother of three, and longtime church secretary, Virginia R. Schneider, died May 7, 2007 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip. She was 65 years old and a resident of Manorville.

Born October 26, 1941 in Freeport to John H. and Ruth (Fowler) Argust, in addition to being a loving mother and wife, she worked as a secretary at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Amityville.

Mrs. Schneider leaves behind her children: Robert W. and his wife Lucille Marie of Lindenhurst, Laura J. Greco and her husband Greg S. Jr. of Lindenhurst, Linda Spiciati and her husband Greg of Lindenhurst; her grandchildren: Kristen and Amanda Schneider, Gregory S. Greco, Jr., Stephanie L. Greco, Robert Spiciati, Danielle Spiciati and Angelina Spiciati; her siblings: Jane Catalano, Gregory and Jonathan Argust; her nephew, Christopher Ceci. Her husband of 30 years, Walter J., predeceased her.

Rev. Randolph Jon Germinder, rector, St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Amityville, conducted a prayer service at the Powell Funeral Home, Amityville, on June 9, 2007. Father Germinder officiated at a Requiem Mass at St. Mary's on May 10, 2007 followed by private cremation.
