Police deliver baby boy

Two Suffolk County Police officers helped a pregnant woman deliver a baby boy in North Amityville.

At 7:23 p.m. Saturday, June 16, First Precinct Patrol Officers Jason Petzold and Brian Kistner responded to a call of a woman in labor at 213 Schleigel Blvd. When they arrived they found Michele Deveney in labor about to give birth.At 7:35 p.m. Deveney with assistance from Officers Petzold and Kistner delivered a baby boy named Sean Markis Deveney.

North Lindenhurst Rescue responded and transported the mother and her baby to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. Both mother and child are doing well.
