Sweeney visits Park Avenue Elementary
      Assemblyman Bob Sweeney was a guest reader at the Park Avenue Memorial Elementary School in Amityville recently, as part of National Library Week. Assemblyman Sweeney read several stories to a class of fifth graders at the school's library.

Amity Woman's Club awards scholarship
      Johanna Hernandez, a June graduate of Amityville Memorial High School, was awarded the Naomi Griffith Scholarship by the Amityville Woman's Club. This scholarship is given to a girl graduate who expects to go to college and prepare for the future.
