Park Avenue Students “Mooove” in the right direction
Each student was asked to donate a minimum of 25 cents to participate, all of which would be donated to charity. For every 25 cents donated, each student received a paper cut out of a cow with his or her name on it. The cows festooned the lobby of Park Avenue Elementary School, and represented the donations that will be sent to Heiffer International, an organization that provides farm animals to those in need to help them achieve self-sustenance.
"Principal Gorman and I are extremely proud of our students, and so appreciative of the support we receive from the Park Avenue staff and the APTC," stated Assistant Principal Michael Febrarro. Custodians began their day early to set up the event and secure the safety of the grounds for students, and the APTC generously donated water and wristbands for the students. After all donations were in, students sprinted three laps around the Park Avenue building to celebrate their success in raising enough money to purchase three cows for a family in need.
