At the Library...
+The Amityville Public Library invites you to be a part of its history by purchasing a brick to be placed in the Centennial Anniversary Garden walkway. Bricks can celebrate a happy event, commemorate an achievement, memorialize a loved one, or honor an organization. The Garden is a living landmark celebrating 100 years of service to the community. Order forms are available at the Library. The cost of each engraved brick $75 and allows for up to three lines of 14 characters each. Order form, with payment, must be submitted by July 31. +Tonight, Wednesday, June 6, 7:30 to 9 p.m., a program will be held on making healthy dietary decisions. Carmella Gabriele will explain how sugar is metabolized so you can better understand its impact on your health. Learn the pros and cons of the latest low-carb diet trend. The link between diabetes, hypoglycemia and sugar will also be explored. +On Wednesday, June 13, 7 to 9 p.m., Bob and Irma Mandel return to the library to discuss U.S. National Parks. +On Thursday, June 14, 7 to 9 p.m. a program on the reasons why cleansing is necessary in today's world and how it will enhance your health and sense of well-being. Learn the benefits of cleansing the body of toxins naturally with juices and raw foods. The program is presented by master raw food chef and detoxification counselor Mary E. Davis.
