St. Martin of Tours inducts National Junior Honor Society recipients

Eight students at St. Martin's School in Amityville were recently inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. Membership is open to students who meet the required standards in five evaluation areas: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship. Once nominated, a student may apply for membership based on additional criteria of character, leadership, service and citizenship by the submission of a student activity information form. This form is completed by the candidate and it provides information regarding the student's leadership, citizenship and service. A history of leadership experiences and participation in school community services is required. This program is open to seventh and eighth graders.

Shown at the induction ceremony, from left to right, are Anthony Babich, Wardlee Michel, Dylan Rosser, Christopher McGovern, Katerina Duarte, Donald Millang, Michael Mehary and Casey O'Neill. The principal Sister Maureen Galvin is standing behind the students.
