America's patriotism endures through times of war and peace
      The faces of the young men in uniform that appeared in last week's edition stand as a testament to the pride with which they served their country, and the pride their families privately nurtured over the decades that followed. Few recounted the stories of their service over those years.

      Kudos to the Amityville Teachers Association. At their 12th Annual Awards Night, the teachers recognized the top students in every grade level in math, writing and the arts. Again, the evening gave all who attended a great sense of pride in the outstanding work that is being done in our schools.
