+The Library is holding a bus trip, Thursday, June 7, for a luncheon cruise on the Bateaux New York yacht. The bus departs 9:45 a.m. Afterwards, you will return to the bus and then enjoy a three-hour guided tour of the "highlights" of New York City. The cost is $79 payable by check or money order. The return time for the trip is 7 p.m., depending on traffic conditions.

+The Amityville Public Library invites you to be a part of its history by purchasing a brick to be placed in the Centennial Anniversary Garden walkway. Bricks can celebrate a happy event, commemorate an achievement, memorialize a loved one, or honor an organization. The Garden is a living landmark celebrating 100 years of service to the community. Order forms are available at the Library. The cost of each engraved brick is $75 and allows for up to three lines of 14 characters each. Order form, with payment, must be submitted by July 31. +On Wednesday, June 6, 7:30 to 9 p.m., a program will be held on making healthy dietary decisions. Carmella Gabriele will explain how sugar is metabolized so you can better understand its impact on your health. Learn the pros and cons of the latest low-carb diet trend. The link between diabetes, hypoglycemia and sugar will also be explored.
