American Pen Women to sponsor poetry contest for high school students

The New York State Association of the National League of American Pen Women is sponsoring a poetry contest for New York State high school students. The topic is A Purer World which can be broadly interpreted and might address global warming, contaminants, pollutants or purer feelings between nations and mankind.

Ninth to twelfth graders are eligible to submit a one-page poem that is written independently and postmarked by the deadline of July 2. The following information should be included: name, address, telephone number, high school, name of principal and grade in school.

The poems should be mailed to B. Goldberg, P.O. Box 160, Massapequa Park, NY 11762 with a selfaddressed stamped envelope. For information contact 799-5291.
