Amityville Schools make holidays bright

Students from Amityville's Northeast and Northwest Elementary and Edward W. Miles Middle Schools wrote hundreds of letters and made cards which were shipped to our troops in Iraq. Members of the Knights of Columbus # 6911, as part of their Adopt - A - Battalion program included them in the 250 cartons of snacks and toiletries they sent to the 2,000 military personnel they sponsor. The letters and cards are treasured by our servicemen and women and surely helped to brighten the spirits of those who were not able to be with their loved ones.
