A facelift long overdue

Everyone, even the seagulls, seem to be waiting for the newly refurbished Peterkin Park.
For far too long, Peterkin Park has looked like the stepchild of the Village of Amityville. With the exception of some of its playground equipment that was replaced, the area has needed some TLC for a long time. It's nice to see that the Village is moving forward with its long-standing plans to restore that park, the lake and the parking lot.

With plans for major changes all around there, which include the construction of homes on the industrial area to the north, the renovations become an integral part of a total restoration of that area.

And that's a good thing.
