+A safe boating course will be offered on Wednesday, April 18 and 25 and May 2, 9 and 16, 7 to 9 p.m. from the Captree Power Squadron who will teach you how to operate your boat or jet-ski confidently and safely. Boat handling, navigation, docking, state boating laws, equipment and personal watercraft are among the topics covered. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive their New York State ID card required to legally operate a personal watercraft in New York. Participants must be at least 10 years of age. A $40 fee by check or money order should be made payable to Captree Power Squadron is due at the first class.

+There will be an evening book discussion, Tuesday, April 24, 7:30 to 9 p.m. of The color of Water by James McBride.
