Mary P. Myton meets

The Mary P. Myton Literary Society met at the home of Joan Garry, Wednesday, February 21. Susan Martin, president, opened the meeting by reading some of the past history of the Society and its influence on the library system in Amityville. At the conclusion of the meeting, Garry led a discussion on books that won the Pulitzer Prize. Janice Todt gave a detailed report on Gilead by Mary Lynn Robinson. Betty Ann Casero explained how much she enjoyed Empire Falls by Richard Russo especially since she has family in the area where this book takes place and Marge Sakraida gave a description of Michael Chabon's book The Amazing Adventures of Kaqvalier and Clay.

Refreshments were served by the hostesses of the day, Joan Garry, Marita DeBruyne, Marge Sakraida and Christine Schulze.
