Religious presence in community is vital to its moral fiber
In reference to the article dated January 10, 2007 "North Amityville Church to be Demolished- Finally" by Tiffany Elliot, we, the pastor and members of the Circle of Love Ministry Worldwide, are writing to you to let you know how appalled we are at the remarks of Noel Campbell, as stated in the above-mentioned article. His attack against the church community was totally out of line.
The churches of this community not only maintain a moral fiber for this region, but also provide many valuable services for the residents. As an example, the Circle of Love has provided some 5000 meals, over the past 10 years, for local residents on Thanksgiving Day. On a weekly basis our volunteers distribute groceries to some 100 families. These food pantry participants represent senior citizens, the working poor and homeless individuals.
