Marilyn Pyes: South Shore licensed practical nurse

Animal lover and avid doll collector Marilyn Pyes who spent her life on the South Shore of Long Island died January 31, 2007. She was 63 years old.

Born in Copiague, she later lived in Babylon Village for approximately 18 years before moving to Amityville where she lived for the past 16 years. Before her retirement, she worked as a licensed practical nurse for a home health-aid company in Bay Shore for nearly 20 years.

According to her son, David, she had lovingly amassed about 100 dolls and also loved her pet rabbits and guinea pigs.

Mrs. Pyes leaves behind her sons: David of West Babylon and John Johnson of Copiague; her sister, Jeanette Corcoran; her granddaughter, Coleen Johnson; as well as other loved ones and friends.

She reposed at the Thomas P. Walsh Funeral Home, Central Islip, on February 3 and 4, 2007. A religious service was held followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on February 5, 2007 at St. John of God R.C. Church, Central Islip. Interment followed in Breslau Cemetery, Lindenhurst.
