Broadway comes to Copiague Middle School

It's a hard knock life for some students, but not for the students at Copiague Middle School. After four weeks of practice learning choreography, songs, and their lines, more than 100 student actors and crewmembers performed the musical Annie Junior for family, friends, and fellow classmates - the first staged musical in many years. Under the direction of their teachers, and Trudy Felicetti, Annie went off without a hitch.

The musical was also a great opportunity for the students to learn a little history. Set during the depression era, the students learned about The New Deal, unemployment, and homelessness.

Making a surprise appearance in the musical were Principal Albert Voorneveld and Assistant Principals Claudia Collins and Andrew Lagnado as President Franklin D. Roosevelt and his handlers.
