Imagination comes to life at Copiague library

A world of imagination, adventures, and a wealth of knowledge are unlocked when a person learns to read. To help reinforce the importance of reading, the first-grade students in Lynda Friedman's class at Susan E. Wiley Elementary School in Copiague have recently discovered those possibilities first hand. Once a month Friedman's students travel to the Copiague Public Library where they are given the opportunity to peruse the stacks of children's books, check out their own books, interact with the librarians, and use the library computers to play educational games.

"It's a great way to encourage reading amongst the students," stated Friedman.
