Scholars in the news

+Berkley College, with campuses in Manhattan, has awarded Amityville resident Nina Troselj a scholarship to attend the school. She is a senior at St. Anthony High School, Huntington Station.

+Caitlyn Horton, of Amityville, a senior at Long Island Lutheran High School, has been awarded an Old Main Scholarship at Wofford College, Spartanburg, South Carolina. Horton is a Star Honor Roll student, president of the French Club, a Habitat for Humanity volunteer and member of the National Honor Society and Mathletes. A volleyball player, she has received the PSAA MVP , IPPSALLeague MVP and Lutti MVP awards. She also was named to the All-Conference team in 2006 and was a member of the 2006 GEVA Regional championship team. She also participated in the USA National Junior Olympic Championships and her team was the 2006 Early Bird Extravaganza Bronze Division Champions. Her parents are Jerry and Debi Horton.

+Lauren Ginsberg and Elliot J. Wolk, both of Copiague, were named to the dean's list for the fall 2006 semester at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York.
