Suzetta Nash commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant Suzetta A. Nash, daughter of Alvin and Olive Nash of Amityville, was commissioned a Second Lieutenant, United States Air Force Medical Services Corps, during ceremonies held here for the occasion on January 13, Captain John G. Velazquez, Commander of the 313th United States Air Force recruiting Squadron's Operations flight, officiated, according to her recruiter, Master Sergeant John F. DiCara, Air Force Officer Accessions Recruiter for New York State. Lieutenant Nash is a May 2006 graduate of Syracuse University where she earned a bachelor of science degree. She is currently attending the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey with an anticipated completion date of 2010. In return for sponsorship and upon successful completion of a D.D.S. degree, Lieutenant Nash will serve on active duty as a dentist in the rank of Captain in the United States Air Force Dental corps.
According to Master Sergeant DiCara, Lieutenant Nash will receive all educational expenses while in dental school, to include tuition, books, fees and laboratory expenses. In addition, she will also be given a living allowance.
