Mary Veech: beloved Massapequa & Copiague resident
After raising her family in Brooklyn, she moved to Massapequa in 1976 and lived on Arlyn Drive East for 27 years. She was popular and well-liked at the Anchorage Condominium unit on Mariner's Way in Copiague, where she lived the last four years. She was described as a loving homemaker who was devoted to her family, who loved to knit, crochet and garden according to her daughter, Carol. Mrs. Veech leaves behind her children: Barbara, Bobby and his wife JoAnne, Mary Mazzarella and her husband Leo and Carol Rizzo and her husband Robert; her ten grandchildren; her one great grandchild; her brothers: George and Robert; as well as other loved ones and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Robert J.
She reposed at the Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home in Babylon Village on January 13 and 14, 2007. A Funeral Mass was held January 15, 2007 at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Massapequa followed by interment in Calverton National Cemetery.
