TOB to offer Pilates and Kick Boxing for residents Supervisor Steven Bellone and Carol Quirk, chairwoman, Parks Committee announced that the Town of Babylon Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs is offering two additional fitness classes. Along with the winter Yoga classes, the Town will now offer a Cardio Core Pilates class, as well as a Kick Boxing Core Cardio. In conjunction with Body Awareness, Inc., the Town of Babylon will hold weekly classes throughout the winter to promote physical, mental and emotional fitness. The Pilates class is designed to be a fun and exciting blend of aerobic fat burner and core pilates. The Kick Boxing Core Cardio is a cardiovascular fat burner workout designed to improve upper and lower body strength while reshaping and adding dynamic flexibility. These classes are appropriate for parent/child or mother/daughter combinations. Body Awareness is New York's first holistic body/mind studio. Based in Lindenhurst, Body Awareness has been dedicated to bringing a balanced lifestyle to the community since 1980.
Classes are held as follows: Kick Boxing, Tuesdays at 4 p.m. and Thursdays at 5 p.m.; Pilates, Tuesdays at 5 p.m. and Thursdays at 4 p.m. classes run from February 27 through May 17 at the Phelps Lane Pool Building,Phelps lane, North Babylon. Registration is February 13 to March 30, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Recreation Program office, 151 Phelps Ln., North Babylon. Fees for the six class are $54, 12 classes for $99 and 24 classes for $189. The classes you purchase can be used for either class. You must register before class at the Recreation program Office. For more information call 631-893-2100.
