Accident on Rt.110 traps man in vehicle

A man was trapped inside a vehicle following an accident at West Smith Street and Rt. 110 North Amityville January 19. Amityville Fire Department volunteers responded with 2nd Ass't Chief Russell Sawyer in charge. Using a hurst tool, firefighters removed two doors on the vehicle, extricating the injured driver. He was transported to a hospital via ambulance. North Amityville Fire Company provided mutual aid at the scene.
