Captree Power Squadron to offer boating courses

The Captree Power Squadron will be offering its Basic Boating and Boat Smart courses, open to the public. These educational courses are a must to insure a safe and fun-filled boating season. Classes include the necessary N.Y. State P.W.C. certification, now required of Personal Water Craft (Jet- Ski) operators of all ages, as well as New York State and Federal Regulations, Rules of the Road on the water, required safety equipment and navigation instruction. Both new and experienced boaters will benefit from our classes. All the following courses upon completion may also qualify you for reduced marine liability insurance rates. To register for these classes simply attend the first session date. Time and place at the locations are listed below. Classes are one night per week.

+Farmingdale- Basic Boating , Tuesdays starting March 6, eight weeks Howitt Middle School- Van Cott Ave.- Farmingdale- 7 to 9 p.m.

+Lindenhurst - Boat Smart ,Wednesdays starting March 14, five weeks, Lindenhurst Middle School, Wellwood Ave. Lindenhurst 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

+North Babylon- Basic Boating, Mondays starting March 26, eight weeks Babylon Town Hall Annex, 281 Phelps Ln., No. Babylon 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

+North Babylon- Boat Smart, Tuesdays starting April 17, five weeks, Babylon Town Hall Annex 281 Phelps Ln., No. Babylon 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

+Lindenhurst Boat Smart ,Wednesdays starting May 2, five weeks Lindenhurst Middle School Wellwood Ave., Lindenhurst 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

+Copiague Boat Smart, Wednesdays starting April 18, five weeks Copiague Library 50 Deauville Blvd.,Copiague 7 to 9 p.m.

+New York State Young Boaters Course ages 10 to 18, at Farmingdale, Tuesdays starting March 6, six weeks Howitt Middle School Van Cott Ave., Farmingdale 7 to 9 p.m.
