Representatives of Chinese colleges visit with IDTI's senior officials

Nineteen leading representatives of Chinese colleges, universities and government agencies visited Island Drafting and Technical Institute in Amityville to learn about the college' curriculum, educational methods and objectives, and its management system, in a meeting with IDTI's senior officials. President James G. Di Liberto hosted the delegation, including President Dafu Sun of Beijing Yiqing Senior Technical School; Baiquan Zhao, director general of the Shangluo Municipal Bureau of Education and Vice Dean Genlong Huang of Beijing Electronic Science and Technology Vocational College.

The Chinese delegation visited the U.S. Department of Education in Washington DC, California State University at San Bernardino and selected IDTI from among the many technical colleges and universities in the New York metropolitan area for observation.

Island Drafting and Technical celebrates its 50th anniversary next year, having been founded in 1957 by Joseph P. Di Liberto and was originally located in Copiague. For information go to www.idti.edu.
