Bank robbery in Amityville

Suffolk County Police Major Case Investigations Unit investigated a robbery at the Teachers Federal Credit Union located at 355 Broadway in Amityville.

Police said a man entered the bank, approached a teller with a note demanding cash and threatened the use of a gun at 12:55 p.m. on Friday, February 2. The teller complied with the robber's demands and gave him cash from the drawer. The robber then fled the bank in an unknown direction.

The robber is described as a black male in his thirty's, approximately 6 feet tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, dark colored knit cap, dark colored pants, and white sneakers.
