Two charged in gun incident Amityville Police arrested two people this month, charging them with criminal possession of a weapon, second degree, following an investigation by Amityville Village Police who gave this account: At approximately 11:40 a.m., January 3, Amityville Police Headquarters received a 9-1-1 call. The caller hung up before police could question them about the emergency, however, police were able to ascertain the location of the call and sent APO Joseph Slack and Eric Onderdonk to 50 Wellington Place to investigate. Det. Bruce Pescitelli said that the officers found two residents, Natasha Perry, 29, and her cousin La- Quan Clinton, 25, arguing. They ascertained that Perry had waved a 9mm handgun at Clinton during the course of the argument and found the weapon in a bedroom in the apartment. In addition, the two officers were able to ascertain that the weapon had been fired five times in the back yard of the home on New Year's Eve. A third subject, Corderro Fletcher, 19, was also in the apartment. Pescitelli said he was discovered smoking marijuana in a room with an 18-month-old child. He was charged with criminal possession of marijuana and endangering a minor. Police called Child Protective Services and they are investigating the family.
"All of this came about as a result of good police work on the part of the two officers who followed through on the initial 9-1-1 call," said Pescitelli.
