Foster homes needed for unique felines

Bide-A-Wee Home Association, a not-for-profit humane animal organization, is seeking a foster home for four cats.

"Gabby" is a 12-year-old white/tabby female. She has been at Bide-A-Wee for almost three years. Like her name, Gabby is very talkative and is front declawed. She prefers to be the only cat in the house and needs catnip toys.

"Penny is a seven-year-old, declawed white/tabby female who has been at Bide-A-Wee for four years. As a result of being hit by a car, Penny has a bent spine and suffers from constipation. Her condition sometimes results in painful cries. Medication is put in her food to help with her bowel problems. Since Penny is a lap cat, she prefers to be an only child.

"Remmy" is an 11-year-old, declawed white/tabby female. She is a lap cat, loves to be brushed and needs a quiet household. Remmy sometimes misses the litterbox. Her medications include pepcid and tylan powder.

"Velvet" is a nine-year-old black, declawed female who is quite a talker. She came to Bide-A-Wee before Christmas 2002. Since she has been in a cage for such a long time, she overgrooms herself, resulting in patches of missing hair. Velvet prefers to be the only cat in the house.

If you can open your heart and home to one of these felines for a short time, call 785-4199, extension 0 for an application. Bide-A-Wee will provide medications, food and litter while the cat is in foster care. Applicants must be over 21 years old and have a love for and experience with cats.
