+Representatives from Cablevision's Power to Learn will conduct a training workshop on the components of the Internet Smarts program, tonight,.Wednesday, January 17, 7 to 8 p.m. Internet Smarts provides tools and resources to parents and teachers that encourage not just safe online practices but ethical ones, on issues as wideranging as copyright and cyber-bullying.

+On Thursdays, January 18 and 25; February, 8, 15 and 22 and March 1, 8 and 15, 7 to 8 p.m. Matilda Ferrara will offer a beginner program in the Italian language. She will start off with simple words, verbs and phrases. Adults and young adults are welcome.

+On Wednesday, January 24, 7 to 8 p.m Dr. Daniel Gozdziewski, personal trainer, physical therapist and chiropractor will speak on childhood and adult obesity and the benefits of exercise. He will show how to make physical activity a priority, organize your exercise, vary physical activity and establish realistic exercise goals. Amityville Oak and John Streets 631-264-0567

+On Sunday, January 28, rock and roll band Squeaky Clean will perform music from the '50s, '60s and '70s. Enjoy favorites such as Twist and Shout, Boy from New York City and Splish Splash. Dances in the aisles is permitted. The program is for all ages. Refreshments reminiscent of the era will be served. Registration at the circulation desk in the children's department or by calling the number above.
