Thomas Dusch:Amity public works employee

Thomas Gerard Dusch, former resident of Amity Harbor, died December 6, 2006 at his home in Seven Lakes, North Carolina. He was 68 years old.

Born October 24, 1938 in Brooklyn to John Edward and Helen (nee Burkhart), he later proudly served in the U.S. Navy. For ten years he worked for the Village of Amityville's Department of Public Works and was an active member of the Massapequa VFW.

In his spare time, he was an accomplished woodworker, who loved boating, watching NASCAR and rooting for his New York Giants. Most of all though, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Dusch is survived by his wife, Michele Smith; his children: Thomas Gerard Jr. and his wife Lori of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Tammi Lee Smith and her husband Steven of Seven Lakes, North Carolina and Helen Marie Aquino and her husband Charles of Orlando, Florida; his brother: Jack E. of Florham Park, New Jersey; his grandchildren: Chad, Justin & Tyler Aquino, Tyler Andresen, Joseph & Alexandra Smith and Russell, Michael & Christopher; as well as other loved ones and friends.

A Funeral Mass was held December 9, 2006 at the Our Lady of the Americas R.C. Church followed by interment in the Seven Lakes Cemetery, North Carolina.

Memorials in Mr. Dusch's name can be sent to Community Home Care & Hospice, 685 Bennett Street, Southern Pines, North Carolina 28387.
