At the Library... +A program on Iceland: Land of Fire and Ice will be offered tonight, Wednesday, January 10, 7 to 9 p.m. +John Pappas of All-State Driving School will give the mandatory fivehour prelicensing course Saturday, January 13, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Upon completion of the course, attendees will receive the MV-278 certification required to schedule a road test. A $30 fee payable to All-State Driving School by cash or money order only is due the day of the class. Participants must bring their valid New York State photo learner's permit. +Homework Help for grades six to 12, will be available Tuesdays, January 16, 23 and 30 and February 6, 13, 20 and 27, 6 to 8 p.m. Certified teacher Mrs. Morgan will be on hand to help you with your homework. +On Tuesday, January 16, 7 to 8 p.m. fitness and nutrition expert Billy Hofacker will discuss diets, how to eat to speed up your metabolism, how to eat to lose weight and keep it off, how to cut through the maze of reading labels and offer tips on how to shop for food to optimize your health.
+Representatives from Cablevision's Power to Learn will conduct a training workshop on the components of the Internet Smarts program, Wednesday, January 17, 7 to 8 p.m. Internet Smarts provides tools and resources to parents and teachers that encourage not just safe online practices but ethical ones, on issues as wide-ranging as copyright and cyber-bullying.
