Marjorie Wright Powell, longtime Amityville Resident

Marjorie "Marge" Wright Powell, a longtime Amityville resident, died December 5, 2006 in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Described by her family as a a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she lived in Amityville for many years and was a member of the Concord Methodist Church. She was also active in the Farragut Ruritan Club.

Mrs. Wright Powell leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Edward U.; her children: Barbara Louise of Fairbanks, Arkansas and Thomas and his wife Debra Karnei of Crystal Lake, Illinois; her grandchildren: Wade and his wife Christina, Lori Noble and her husband Mike and Jennifer; her five great grandchildren as well as other loved ones and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Laurence Wright and Marion Duryea Wright.

A grave-side service was held December 11, 2006 at the Amityville Cemetery officiated by The Reverend Doctor Louise Stowe-Johns, pastor, First United Methodist Church, Amityville. Arrangements were made by the Powell Funeral Inc., Amityville.
