And the winners are...

Members of the Amityville Chamber of Commerce conducted the annual judging of holiday homes, selecting from the entries the best dressed home for night, the best dressed home in the day category and the best decorated business.

This year’s winners were John and Julianne Gaudioso of 137 Oak Street in the night category, at right;Ellen and Bob Appold in the day category, top right. Winning this year’s award for the nicest decorated business was HBS Jewelers and Delightful Treasures at 44 Merrick Rd., Amityville, shown above.

Winning an honorable mention was the Amityville Historical Society for the decorations on the Lauder Museum building.

The annual event is sponsored by the Amityville Chamber of Commerce and the Amityville Record newspaper. Winners will receive a certificate of recognition and Amityville Chamber dollars, which they can redeem at any Chamber member’s business.

“We had a few more people entering their homes and businesses this year, which is exciting,” said Marsha Besserman, president of the Chamber. “It’s nice when a homeowner or a business owner spends time and money to bring some holiday spirit to their community and that is what we like to recognize.”
