Town of Babylon offers Winter Yoga classes for Town residents

Supervisor Steven Bellone and Carol Quirk, chairwoman, Parks Committee announce that the Town of Babylon Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs is offering a winter yoga class. In conjunction with Body Awareness, Inc., the Town of Babylon will hold weekly classes throughout the winter to promote physical, mental and emotional fitness. Body/Mind Yoga is designed especially for stress reduction, better backs, focusing the mind and increasing flexibility.

Body Awareness is New York’s first holistic body/ mind studio. Based in Lindenhurst, Body Awareness has been dedicated to bringing a balanced lifestyle to the community since 1980.

Registration will take place January 2 to January 22, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the recreation program office, 151 PhelpsLn., North Babylon.Y oga will be held Monday, January 22 to March 12, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Phelps Lane Pool Building, Phelps Lane, North Babylon. The eight-class session costs $64. A single class is $15 but you must register before class at the recreation program office.
