Elaine Williams, WWII Navy WAVE and longtime Amityville resident Longtime Amityville resident and World War II WAVE, Elaine Williams died November 18, 2006 at her home. She was 82. Born in Flushing to Ernest and Florence Fieux, she later served during World War II as a WAVE or Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service in the U.S. Navy. She lived on Gaylord Drive South for 52 years and worked as a receptionist for former Amityville doctor, Edmund G. O’Connor. Mrs. Williams leaves behind her husband of 55 years, Samuel B.; her children: Stephen and his wife Mary of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Robert and his wife Linda of West Islip, Richard and his wife Ceil of Brewster, New York, Scott and his wife Linda of Lindenhurst and Patricia Reals and her husband Matthew of Manorville, New York; her grandchildren: Alissa and Cassie of Fort Wayne, Jennifer, Christopher and Julie Ann of West Islip, Ryan and Neal of Brewster, Kristen Lizzi and her husband Wayne of Breezy Point, Zachary and Brian of Lindenhurst and Rebecca Reals of Manorville; her great grandchild, Luke Lizzi; as well as other loved ones and friends.
Mrs. Williams was cremated under the the direction of Powell Funeral Home, Inc., Broadway, Amityville.
