Roshell Mabron, former Brunswick hospital employee

Roshell Mabron, who lived inAmityville for many years, died November 20, 2006 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was 72 years old.

Born February 20, 1934 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Earnest and Lillian (Julia), he later married his wife Ruth (Dent) in Ohio and moved to Amityville in 1960. He worked for Brunswick Hospital for seven years and for Grumman Aerospace for more than 25 years.

Mr. Mabron was an active parishioner in Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Amityville and was a hard worker, according to his family who nicknamed him “Robie” and “Russ.”

He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Ruth; his children: Cynthia Dianna and Michael and his wife Trish; his grandsons: Michael and Marquis; his sisters: Edna Edwards, Audrey Brown, Betty Hills of California; his brother, Lomox of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; his sister-in-laws: Jeanette Dent and Katherine Hunter of Clarkstown, Georgia; as well as many loving relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Timothy, his twin brother, Roosevelt, his brother-in-law, Johnny Dent, his mother-in-law, Josephine Dent and five sisters.

The Reverend Doctor Robert D. Abbott, pastor, Holy Trinity Baptist Church, officiated at the funeral service in the church on November 28, 2006 followed by interment in Amityville Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Powell Funeral Home, Inc., Broaday, Amityville.
