Raymond Haase: decorated Vietnam Navy veteran

Longtime Massapequa resident Raymond H. Haase died November 3, 2006 in Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles. He was 60-years old and had lived on Erlwein Court in East Massapequa for about 15 years.

Born August 2, 1946 in Oceanside to Joseph C. and Alice (Feil), he proudly served in the Navy during Vietnam and later worked as a self-employed service technician and entrepreneur. According to his family he was loved by all he met.

Mr. Haase leaves behind his son, Raymond P. of Bay Shore; his longtime companion, “Puff” of Massapequa; his brothers: Joseph of Crisfield, Maryland and Kevin of North Babylon; his sister, Lorraine Bell of Copiague; his nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews as well as other loved ones and friends.

Reverend David W. Anglin, pastor, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, officiated at the funeral service held November 13, 2006 at the Powell Funeral Home, Amityville. A private cremation with military honors, followed.
