Nettie G. Carswell, Professional Dog Handler Lifelong Massapequan and professional dog handler, Nettie G. Carswell, died October 28, 2006 at the Parkview Nursing Home in Massapequa. She was 88 years old. Born July 17, 1918 in Massapequa to Anthony and Sophie (Dutka) Glywasky, she later raised her own family and worked in the family business, D.L. Car Kennels in Massapequa. Mrs. Carswell leaves behind her children: David L. II., John A. and Annette (Candy); her grandchildren: David L. III and Georgette M.; her siblings: Daniel Glywasky and Lulu Horishney; as well as other loved ones and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, David L. (Laddie) and her sister, Elizabeth G. Koehler.
Father Randolph Jon Germinder, rector, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Amityville, officiated at the Funeral Service at the Powell Funeral Home, Inc., Amityville, on October 31, 2006 followed by interment in Amityville Cemetery.
