Copiague School District celebrates 'A decade of Honor'
This year's celebration represented A Decade of Honor as the Copiague School District recognized three distinguished alumni for their outstanding achievements and services to humanity. The evening began with a special presentation recognizing Superintendent of Schools Dr. William R. Bolton as the Founder of Hall of Achievement ten years ago. "Serving as Superintendent of the Copiague Schools has been a dream come true," stated Dr. Bolton. "Working with such a s u p p o r t i v e Board of Education and caring community has been a wonderful experience." A special photo presentation created by Board of Education member Brian J. Sales added to this special recognition. True to tradition, the evening's Master of Ceremonies Dr. Louis J. Bamonte thoroughly engaged those in attendance by his entertaining and poignant introduction of each of the three most recent inductees into the Hall of Achievement.
The evening concluded with the unveiling of the wall that holds the Hall of Achievement plaques prominently displayed in the main hallway of Walter G. O'Connell Copiague High School. The goal of the district's Hall of Achievement is to introduce positive role models to the school community. Such models by their very nature will inspire students to adopt high aspirations. Shown in the photo, Copiague School District Superintendent of Schools Dr. William R. Bolton and members of the Board of Education congratulated the most recent inductees into the district's Hall of Achievement during a special Decade of Honor induction ceremony.
