Maria Mercurio, 58, Copiague S.D. employee Maria R. Mercurio, former longtime Copiague resident who worked in the food services department of the Copiague school district for 18 years, died October 25, 2006. She was 58 years old. Born in New York, New York, she later lived in Copiague for 35 years. Mrs. Mercurio leaves behind her husband of 37 years, Joseph; her children: Stephanie and Michele Estrada and her husband Jay, all of Copiague; her brothers: Michael Mauro of Staten Island and Lawrence Mauro of Brooklyn; as well as other loved ones and friends.
She reposed at the D'Andrea Brothers Funeral Home, 99 Oak Street, Copiague, on October 27, 2006. A Catholic Funeral Mass was held at Our lady of Assumption R.C. Church, Copiague, on October 28, 2006 followed by interment in Pinelawn Memorial Cemetery.
