St. Martin of Tours October display

St. Martin of Tours in Amityville had a display in their front hall for the month of October. The rosary is featured because the purpose of the rosary is to help keep in memory certain principal events or mysteries in the history of our salvation and to thank and praise God for them. October 1 was the memorial of St. Therese of the child Jesus, more popularly known as "the Little Flower". Children from many grades made the flowers that were displayed.

Christians everywhere celebrated the feast of St. Francis of Assisi on October 4 by blessing their pets in the spirtit of this patron saint for animals. Many children left toy animals by the display pictured to symbolize this.
