Pearline Moodie, Amityville resident and nurse's aide

Pearline Moodie, a professional nurse's aide, died March 22, 2006 at the Carillon House Nursing Home in Melville where she had worked for many years. She was 72 years old.

Born in Hanover, Jamaica, West Indies onNovember 25, 1933, she lived in Amityville for almost 15 years years on Benjamin Avenue and later Bayview Avenue.

In her spare time, she loved to attend church and shop, according to her daughter, Nellie.

Mrs. Moodie leaves behind her children: Nellie of Amityville and Winston of Virginia; 38 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren as well as other family members and friends. Her husband, Roy, predeceased her.

The Reverend Denton Smith, pastor, Calvary Apostolic Church, officiated a funeral at the Powell Funeral Home, Inc., Amityville followed by a private burial.
