Fourth of July observances honor our American Veterans
2006-07-05 / Schools/Sports
New York State Senator John Flanagan, center, is shown with Fred Seitz of East Islip and Jim Hart of Smithtown, right, as they prepare for Fourth of July ceremonies at the American Airpower Museum at Republic Airport that will pay tribute to all American veterans and defense workers who have played a role in protecting our independence. The American Airpower Museum at Republic Airport, 1230 New Highway, south of Conklin Avenue, Farmingdale, regularly flies a squadron of World War II aircraft, including a Republic Aviation Thunderbolt fighter that is only one of six left in the world flying. The museum is open Thursday through Sunday from 10:30 a.m. through 4 p.m. and its web site is www.americanairpowermuseum.com.
