Amityville Historical Society craft classes to be held every Wednesday evening in May The Amityville Historical Society has announced they are starting historical craft classes this May. Ribbon embroidery will be taught on Wednesdays, May 3, 17 and 24, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lauder Museum, Route 110 and Ireland Place, Amityville. Liz Smith will be the instructor. On Saturday mornings, May 6 and 13, Ginnie Thomas will teach the making of corn husk dolls, 10 a.m. to noon at the museum. Students are requested to sign up prior to the classes. Please call the museum at 631-598-1486 between 2 and 4 p.m. on Tuesdays or Fridays or Chairman Thomas at 631-264-1063. On Saturday, June 10, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. the Historical Society will be holding its annual fair on the Park Avenue School grounds. The rain date is June 11, 1 to 5 p.m. Members of the Society will be demonstrating many of the historical crafts. |
