A lantern light tour, hosted by The Fire Island Lighthouse Preservation Society, will be held Saturday, October 15. Enjoy an escorted walk along the beach and swale, as stationed interpreters unfold the stories of the U.S. Life Saving and Fire Light Station. Participants should dress warmly, wear good walking shoes and bring a flashlight. The walk is approximately two miles and includes one mile on the ocean beach. This walk is not recommended for children under eight years old.

This program is by reservation only. Parking and check in is at Parking Field #5, Robert Moses State Park. The first group begins at 5:40 p.m. and the last is 8 p.m. The fee is $10 per person.
