Tech Sgt. Leroy Irby decorated with Air Force Commendation

Air Force Reserve Tech. Sgt. Leroy Irby has been decorated with the Air Force Commendation Medal. The medal is awarded to those individuals who demonstrate outstanding achievement or meritorious service in the performance of their duties on behalf of the Air Force.

Irby, a system integration analyst assigned to Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, Va., has 25 years of military service.

He is the son of Alice Irby of Cedar Terrace Apts., Selma, Alabama. His wife, Dolores, is the daughter of Daniel and Brenda P. Powell of County Line Road, Amityville.

The sergeant graduated in 1977 from Selma High School, and received a bachelor’s degree in 2003 from Strayer University, Alexandria, Va.
