Amityville student attends Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington D.C.

Kevin Torres, the son of Sonia and Joseph Torres of Massapequa and a student at the Edmund Miles Middle School in Amityville recently attended the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington D.C.

The leadership conference introduces young people to the rich tradition of leadership throughout American history, while helping them develop their leadership skills. Torres participated in educational activities and presentations led by individuals in high-level positions as well as young people who exercise leadership skills in their communities. They also rubbed elbows with elected officials and key Congressional staff members on Capital Hill.

Kevin is a 6th grader and when he’s not studying or attending school enjoys playing video games and watching classic movies.
