Jerrilyn Craddock, a longtime resident of Amityville, died January 20, 2005 at her home. She was 58 years old.

Ms. Craddock was born September 4, 1946 in Charleston, South Carolina to Charles W.A. and Margaret E. (Stent) Craddock. Although a busy mother of three, she managed to obtain a degree from Adelphi University. She had her master’s degree and spent her career in the field of education employed by the Amityville UFSD. She also worked for Suffolk State and Head Start. She was a member of various churches but she finally made Solid Rock Ministries her church home.

Survivors include her children Alexander Thomas of Brentwood, her daughter Jillian Thomas of Amityville, her son James V. Jones III of Amityville and her grandchildren Ashley Thomas, Alexander Thomas, Aaron Thomas and Marie Thomas. Also surviving are her sister Nadine Craddock of Virginia and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Reverend Bernadette Watkins said the funeral service at the Powell Funeral Home, 67 Broadway, Amityville, January 25, 2005 followed by interment in Amityville Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Powell Funeral Home.
